Smoothies!

As you all know, Spring is coming up, and with the beautiful sun shining, the one thing I crave more than anything is a cold drink in my hand. With that being said, I’ve been on a sort off healthy-low-carb diet, so that means I can’t just grab the closest soda can in my fridge. So, I went to Safeway and bought a bunch of both frozen and fresh fruits and started experimenting in the kitchen. Here are a few of the recipes that worked out for me and tasted delicious and refreshing!

  1. Kiwi Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana

6 strawberries

1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt

3/2 cup of pineapple orange juice

Place the banana, strawberries, kiwi, vanilla frozen yogurt, and pineapple and orange juice blend in a blender. Blend until smooth.

2. Banana Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 banana sliced

6 oz vanilla yogurt

1 Tbsp. honey

1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger

Combine the banana, yogurt, honey, and ginger. Blend until smooth.

3. Mango Smoothie

Ingredients:

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 1/2 cups low-fat plain yogurt

2 1/2 cups frozen mango chunks

1 Tbsp. honey

Juice from half lime

Toss all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Then, Enjoy!
